The founder of 7 village noodle house started off his Koay Teow Th'ng business with his tricycle since the year 1970s at Butterworth. Later on, they moved into a small restaurant and expanded to 4 branches now: Raja Uda, Nibong Tengah, Bukit Tengah and Abu Siti Lane. I enjoyed their simple, clean and the color theme of yellow+white+blue ambiance. I would say its rare to find food still taste that great after franchised.
We opted for Dry Koay Teow (RM 4.70) since mystery man found their Ramen just mediocre. The well marinated minced meats, meat slices and fish balls were served together with soy sauce. It was flavory and scrumptious.
The main draw of 7 village would be their Koay Teow Th'ng (RM 4.70). Same ingredients as the dry one, soy sauce ware replaced with thick broth. I like the soup as it wasn't too oily yet emit adequate natural sweetness. Topped with aromatic stir fried garlic.
Definitely must-try teow chew side dish->Kwan Jiang (RM 1.00), yam, bangkuang, radish, peanut, and deep fried with wrapped bean curb. Served with chili sauce that drew with their signature 7. Impressive!

I think island's version is not that nice as compared to Raja Uda outlet. For me I more prefer their Lamian instead of koay teow. Getting more and more addict to it, haha :D
ReplyDeleteHmm got to go to Raja Uda and do a real comparison d.. time to plan for a day food hunt at Butterworth.. keke
