50 years of experience in the business of preparing Pisang Goreng, this modest van parked in the intersection between Jalan Chan Siew Tong and Jalan Tanjung Bungah may have served a lot of locals and tourists their famous and toothsome Pisang Goreng and other fritters.
It has down come to the second generation of the owner to run the business, but the taste has never been a lackluster. Their banana fritters (RM 1.00) are still the best we ever had, with the crunchy skin covering the sweet and fresh bananas. Munches sound are the best evidence to prove the crunchiness of the pisang goreng.
Their pisang goreng is definitely one of their majors, and let the amount of banana and the ripped banana skin talk the show.
There are other fried foods available but we only managed to try the sweet potatoes (RM0.70) and kuih kodok (banana cakes) as the other were sold out. Kuih kodok (RM 0.50) has strong and nice banana essence but the texture was slightly doughy. The sweet potatoes tasted good. Glutinous rice (RM 1.50) sandwiched within sweet potatoes and yam, the oozing glutinous rice was mesmerizing
Few pieces of fritters are just good enough to fit in your stomach for a short teabreak. Oftentimes, you will see people drop by to take away some fritters and it is enjoyable to have such a nice snack for teatime.
Occasionally, the first generation owner still came and help out his son. You may spot a humble uncle sitting by the wall and preparing the bananas quietly.
