Hock Chuan Heong @ Macallum Flat, Penang

Hock Chuan Heong might not be well known among the young generation, but absolutely the favorite dining spot for elderly. A little bit more effort needed to locate their shop as it wasn't obvious from the main road. If you familiar with the Pos Office branch at Gat Lebuh Cecil, then it would be a piece of cake for you. Their shop just located at the U-shape building behind it.

Usually you will find them full house during lunch hour, but I am sure great food worth the wait. They are very focus on a few of their specialties, similar to Ang Hoay Loh. Although it is a bit overpriced but we would like to give a thumb up for their Hokkien dishes and oysters fried.

Oyster Mee Hun Mee (RM 18) came in plentiful of ingredients including fresh prawns and oysters, chicken, liver and choy sum. We were very impressed they manage to hit the balance of saltiness and the natural sweetness coming from the ingredients.

Their spectacular Oyster Fried (RM 14) could be the best we have tried so far. They aint like crispy Oyster fried from Lam Ah , but more towards starchy texture side. The oysters they chose are average in size so that giving us minimal fishiness experience but remaining the chewy texture.
