There wasn't much of Tapas restaurant in Penang. Once in a blue moon, we like to have excite our palate with different kind cuisine. El Faro has been established since year 2012, a popular place for buddies gathering and enjoy a few cups of wine. Albeit the price is on the higher side, the quality and savory valued the price in return.
Remarks: El Faro has since close down.

We started our fine dining with SalchichĂ³n (RM 20) in Tapa size after we confirmed that Dish size is catered for 2 person. A little bit of saltiness and peppery coming from the thinly sliced SalchichĂ³n, amalgamate with the plain but great baguette. We thought they did a great job in terms of bread selection as a great slice of SalchichĂ³n needs good bread.
El Faro Mix Paella (RM 46 Tapa size), the must-try when you dine in for Spanish dishes. Mountain high seafood visibly seen on top the rice, they are clams, prawns and squids. Very fresh and chewy. The rice they used is the special Spanish Valencian rice, almost round in shape. It tasted even better after a squeeze of lemon. If we have to nitpick, it is a bit salty to our liking.
Round up our dinner with La Piña (RM 17) as our dessert. Extremely crispy version of pineapple pancake, topped with candied pecan, fresh strawberries and mint leaves. Finished with Vanilla ice cream. A delightful dessert commingled of sweet, salt and sour sensation.
