Taman Emas Coffee shop owns one of the most talk about Penang's laksa. It is the typical kind of coffee shop, located at the bustling road with Penang Chinese Girl School, and this road link to Gurney as well. Although this laksa may not topped our list, but it definitely fix our laksa crave. If you are local or foreign tourist who choose to stay around Gurney. This would be the nearest place for you to tick your food list of Penang-must-try.
Laksa's broth was much towards the sweet side, with a little bit of sour coming from tamarind. Al dante thick rice noodle topped with mushy fish and ginger flower. Not too much of spiciness, good for those intolerable with spicy food. We added on 2 pieces of popiah which cost us the damange of RM 6.50 in total.
We were yearning for something with wok hei, Char Koay Teow (RM 5.50)Â always the best remedy. Unlike some popular CKT, this came with small prawns where shying behind the koay teow.
