We are not an ardent lover for a total carnivorous diet as we are more sensitive on getting a meat sweat and concerned about the excessive of fat intake. However, the recent eatery establishment at Golden Triangle - Kim Poh Roasted Chicken & Duck Rice do make us have a plateful of excessive meat. We are not aware that Kampar is renowned for its roasted chicken or duck but we were really satisfied with the dishes here.
We ordered a mixture platter of char siew, roasted pork, roasted duck and roasted chicken. The whole platter was well drenched with soy sauce, giving the whole dish a very heavy yet palatable taste. Look at the quantity of meat being served, it was enormous and really overwhelming for just two of us. On top of that, it was noticeable that the soup was cooked using Cordyceps, or know to some as Caterpillar Fungus.
Total damage was RM25, included the ice coffee and vegetable, which we felt quite reasonable.
The roasted pork, duck and chicken possess a tender texture and nice mouth feeling and the roasted pork has a crispy skin texture. I was never a loyal fan to duck meat as they tend to emit a bad odour but the roasted duck here was totally fine for me. In fact, I took quite a number of the roasted duck meat here.
