Start the meal light with Soul Cafe's classic Homemade Mushroom Soup (RM 16). The combination of fresh portobello, button and shimeji mushrooms yielded a subtle flavor. Whilst using vegetable stock, the soup still retained its creaminess. A final touch of cream is added to ratchet the soup into a pretentious serving.

In soul cafe, the chefs use thin spaghetti, ranging from number 3 - 5 from a scale of 10 to cook the pasta. The rationale was thin spaghetti minimize the absorption of the sauce used, maintaining a healthy equilibrium between the spaghetti noodles and the outer environment sauce.

A wide range of spaghetti noodles are served here, mainly encircles in 4 different sauces - aglio olio, pesto, cabonara & tomato based. All the spaghetti are served in the enticing al-dente texture.

Spaghetti el Pescatore (RM 32) would definitely a must-pick for seafood fanatics. The plate of spaghetti are served with freshly locally sourced prawns, squids and local fresh clams, then tossed in olive oil, garlic, onion, black pepper, chili flakes, white wine, then finishing with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil before topped with micro greens and Grana Padano cheese. The seafood scent is such pleasantly overwhelming, like breathing in a lungfuls of bracing sea air into the nostrils when scooped into mouth.

For a more intense seafood sensation, try their Linguine al Vongole Pesto (RM20). The pungent briny sea salt scent will bring the oral environment immersed in an aqua sea environment. On top of that, it was served with generous amount of local fresh clams, and the solid pesto sauce is enhanced by the introduction of white wine, black pepper and chili flakes.

Non-seafood person are well taken care of here by the various choices of spaghetti served with chicken, sausages or duck meat. We sampled the Spaghetti Al Affumicato (RM 24) The aromatic yet delusive smoked could be scented inches away during serving. It comes with tenderly red duck slices encapsulated in the smoked indulgence, accompany by chewy bacons, with balance of mushroom, cherry tomato and Thai basil. The pasta is then topped with shredded parmesan to provide a rich feeling.

Exhibiting an unique and elusive taste, their Spaghetti alla Chorizo (RM 21.80) was an exhilarating choice of meal for the night. Served in tomato based (pomodoro) sauce, we were sceptical initially as it might taste bland if the chefs use ready made or commercial available pomodoro. However, the worries could be taken off in Soul Cafe, as their mixture of tomato and cherry sauce were housemade and well tuned into perfection. The chefs then architected the serving into a fountain alike structure, by having the noodles reeled in the center of a pool of smoky pork Chorizo.

The rich yet delectable creaminess of Linguine al Carbonara (RM 18.50) is irresistible. Though exhibiting luscious in the cream, it was not greasy but in fact smooth to the taste. Button mushrooms and smoked bacons were added, then topped with Grana Padano Cheese. It would be a great choice for someone who prefers simplicity and conventional serving of spaghetti.

t would be a great loss if we did not sample their Today's special menu. Linguine al Vongole con Curry (RM 21.80) has a perfect combination of spices and cream sauce, robust enough to able to link the oceanic scent of the clams. The taste is further enhanced with the addition of garlic and onion, sprinkled with chili flakes and curry leaves..

While one might thought ladies having weak resistance toward desserts, men's heart might even be conquered by Molten de Cocoa (RM 18) here. Slice the fluffy chocolate cake, and the oozing hot chocolate will flood out like lava outflow from volcano eruption. Combining the chilly vanilla ice cream and the warm chocolate completed the date at Soul Cafe. The fresh passion fruit and its nutty texture was an intense and excellent addition to the dessert.

An addition of a cup of Crème brûlée would be a great addition to the day. The hard crisp caramel layer is shielding a rich custard base flavored with natural vanilla, as demonstrated by the tiny black dots. Although classified as a dessert, the sweet taste is positioned at moderate level. Two distinguished layer is vividly tasted in the custard base, one being the strong eggy upper part and creamy lower part.

Hand Drip Coffee (RM 18.00) would be every coffee connoisseurs' pick. Blended using 5 different types of coffee beans by their barista's formula, it emits a flavourful fruity and flowerly aroma when sipped in hot. Upon left to cold, the aroma reduced but the taste is stronger, lingering in the tongue and throat upon sipping. On a sidebar note, their coffee beans might change depending on season availability.

The barista is more than ready to serve you a cup of coffee to suit your mood of the day. Just tell the barista how is your feeling upon arrival in Soul Cafe, let it be moody, cheerful or even sorrow. Shortly, let the caffeine be the right fix or the complement for your current disposition.
