Kung Fu Kitchen is a 2 months old restaurant at Jalan Anson that offers cuisine from Ningxia (宁夏)province of China. The restaurant currently occupies the EcoWorld showroom, exhibiting a spacious dining area with ample of dining. Boasting the chefs hailing from China, Kung Fu Kitchen kneads and produces their own noodles that offers an unique al-dente texture. Despite their modernized settings, the food here is inexpensive, giving a real competition to the surrounding restaurants. Halal certification of Kung Fu Kitchen currently is an ongoing task. On top of that, the restaurant also sells an array of Ningxin origin products.
If you enjoy taking beef, then Hometown Beef Noodle (回乡牛肉面; RM 13.90) is a worthy try. The dish forte is definitely its noodle, which is al-dente and sleek. While we were expecting to broth to be thick and strong in beef scent, it was light yet flavourful with a hint of spiciness (we requested for low level of spiciness). A few big slices of beef was served along the noodle. Overall quite a decent dish that appease our appetite well.
Fried Ramen (炒拉面 RM 14.90) was another dish recommended by the crew. The noodles are akin like a flat and thinner udon noodles, and its preparation is a bit of peculiar with the usage of a great quantity of capsicum and chilies. The first taste was not spicy but the heat slowly builds up, generating a moderate of numbness even after we finished the noodles. Quite an enjoyable dish for us.
The crew also recommended us to take some small dish (小菜 - 土豆丝), which serves well as some finger bites before venture into the main dishes. Chrysanthenum Tea (RM 3.90) is great concoction that comes with woofberry / goji.
Overall, Kung Fu Kitchen is a decent restaurant that offers great noodles dishes at competitive price in a restaurant ambiance. Fret not about parking as there are ample of parking space in front of the restaurant.
