Coffee Venture @ Raja Uda, Butterworth, Penang

Coffee Venture has been standing strong in Raja Uda for some time, presumbly for at least more than 5 years despite the constant changing of cafes outlets. The cafe is pride of having a comfortable interior, boasting modern woody design and comfortable couches that makes us feel lingering here for a longer time. Coffee Venture does offer a menu with a wide choices of Western dishes and finger food such as pasta, pizza, croissants and etc, but we feel their forte are more to their coffee upon visiting here.

We were little lost when flipping through the menu in front of the cashier, as there ain't much food that interest us. Eventually we settled with Nasi Lemak Burger (RM 18.00), which was not a wise choice. The presentation was sloopy with a few wedges served at the side, and the components of the burger did not make sense when having together. The sambal sauce was uninspiring, and the fried chicken cutlet offers little excitement. Overall, the burger was something just to fill the stomach rather than a food for enjoyment.

However, we enjoyed the coffee here much. Both Mocha and Cappuccino we had were sleek and brimming with coffee scent. The cake was ok, nothing much of the ordinary.

Overall, Coffee Venture is a place worthy come for the coffee for a relaxing afternoon or evening, but the food may need more trial before a conclusive verdict can be placed.
