This bustling food court which just situated next to Bayan Baru Market and just opposite Sunshine Square, offers variety of food ranging from Malay, Chinese and Indian cuisine. There are aplenty of drink stalls inside the food court, almost at every corner but we will sure come back to Poh Hock for their coffee. We regards them as one of the best coffee beside Beng Aun, that is rich and satiating but in reasonable price.

Curry mee (RM 3.00) tasted as good as it smell. I almost request for extra chili which I felt so grateful that I didn't after that. After a few sips I found it quite spicy. The soup as thick as how tangy it smell. Penang's style tend to be ying yong by combining two kinds of noodle, in this case mee hun was combined with yellow noodle. Bean sprout pork frozen blood, cockles and fresh prawn were added too.
They open during the breakfast hour. Usually they sold off around 12pm.
Lai Hoe Tom Yam opens during lunch hour which is around 11 in the morning. This reddish gravy Tom Yam soup (RM 5) is more towards the spicy side. My lips turned numb for an hour after finish the whole bowl. It's quite similar to the Tom Yam at Sunshine Square food court (refer here) except that they serve only meehun. Their fillets were above average but I prefer it to be much crunchier. If you opted for something plain, you can try plain soup or porridge. Fillet can be replaced with prawn (RM 7) and pork (RM 4.50).
Seremban Kee Mei Siew Pao, ya they have their pastries delivered all the way from Seremban daily. Their exquisitely scrumptious Pork Siew Pow sold off early so make sure you go and grab them around 10 in the morning. Their golden chicken siew pow (RM 1.50) is exceptionally nice too.Â
Operation hour: 8.30am-2pm (Siew Pao finish baking at 10am) & 6.30pm till finish.
We ordered extra spicy for mee goreng from Mee C.R.C stall, noodle is evenly coated with egg aroma but in dry style. Perhaps we shall check out their kuah version as we noticed many order that as well.
We are influenced by the endless orders from the Aun Zai stall. With a little space of stomach left, we went to ordered fried maggie with fried fish. After half hour of waiting, its nothing peculiar about it. On separate visit, we opted for their Tomyam and this shall explain the queue. Rice and bowl tom yam that cooked separately upon order, with gentle spicy kick.
Husni Nasi Kukus, offering limited menu with either chicken or fish, egg and ulam. The rice are steamed in small bowls but to be frank we can't tell the difference in term of taste between steamed rice and the usual way. However, the key that makes Husni's stall stand out are the gravy and fried chicken. Add a little bit of sambal to give you delightful spicy, sweet and salty complex sensation.
Porridge from stall #46 may look unattractive upon served, but the taste speak otherwise. Generous portion of oyster and fish flesh to compliment with the porridge that akin baby porridge texture, seasoned with rightful amount of soy sauce and white pepper, then garnished with scallion.
If you have been bored of the black sauce wan than mee, try the Spicy Wan tan mee from stall #87 to experiment the bursting hot excitement. Be ready to enjoy a little bit of numbness on your forehead.
