I believe Khun Thai, the name doesn't sound foreign to you as it have four branches scattered across Petaling Jaya, Kepong, Penang and Butterworth was the one I tried. We came with high expectation but it turned the other way round. However, I believe we ordered the wrong dishes perhaps. As the signage say it all, they are renown for Steamed Fish and believe or not, we didn't order that!! After the meal, we peep other tables and found most of them ordered fish, lala and seafood Otak-otak. T.T
According to my bestie, Khun Thai was half the size it has now about 5 years back. Like most of the Thai Restaurant, they have the atap pondok design too.
Tom Yam (RM 22.00) was the mustn't missed Thai Food. Don't be deceived by the reddish soup as it wasn't spicy. The soup was thick and came with prawn, squid, fish plus abalone mushroom. They have the option of white Tom Yam too.
Spicy Mango Kerabu (RM 10.00) served with generous amount of mango, onion, cucumber, anchovies and cashew nut.
Deep Fried Soft Shell Crabs (RM 15.00) served with sweet and sour sauce.
Mantis Prawn fried with salty egg (RM 15.00), I found too much oil trapped inside the mantis prawn.
Quenching Cocunut Juice (RM 4.50) after heaty dinner.
