With the mushrooming of restaurant at Elite Avenue, Sticks & Spoon is one of the restaurant that attracted me as I am Dim Sum lover. As their name suggest, the interior is more towards oriental and classic style. Cozy environment with air conditioning, most importantly Wifi is available for our social updates. Although their menu wasn't extensive but they have covered most of crucial Hong Kong's dimsum, especially they have Lao Sar Pau (Salted Egg Custard Bun) in the menu. Price wise is very wallet friendly and reasonable.
XO Loh Pak Gow, the Carrot Cake with XO Sauce (RM 8) were crisp on the skin but preserving the soft carrot cake texture. With the addition of XO sauce, their loh pak gow is much watery. Lotsa crispy flakes sprinkled on top of the carrot cake which we suspect are garlic. The after taste was quite spicy to our liking.
Here come the star of the day, the Lao Sar Pau (RM 6) with oozing custard serving warm. The skin of the bun is so tender soft that we thought it can't hold the heavenly custard anymore.
Xiao Long Pau (RM 5.50) were thoughtfully served each in a small bowl. No more hassle of worrying you might wasted any drip of the divine essence onto table. The meat filling was tender, laying in the bed of sweet and saturated broth. If we have to nitpick, the bottom skin of the dumpling stubbornly stick to the plate which then separated the skin and the filing.
Gi Ji Siu Mai/ Wolfberry Pork Dumplings (RM 4.50) with well flavored tender fillings that garnished with sweet wolfberry.
Steamed Minced Pork and Salted Fish with Rice (RM 11.80), came with black sauce for you to glaze them over the rice. Tender soft minced pork with a little bit of salty kick from the salty fish and Tung Choy/Preserved Cabbage. The chef added some greeny touch with kai lan and ornament with shallot leaf.
We ended our gratifying meal with sweet note on their must-try Kwai Fa Jelly/Osmanthus Jelly (RM 4.50). With the fragrance from Osmanthus, combined with the healthy sweetness from wolfberries, highlighted with its Q and chewy texture.
In term of parking, there are ample spaces. Good news is that Elite Avenue has yet collecting parking fees yet.
