The reopening of Komtar's floor 59th and 60th has brought a lot of joy to Penangite, with the 59th floor catered for buffet while 60th for bar. Take a break from your busy life, savour your meal by the window and enjoy the great scenic view of Penang under your foot. I believe dining in the noon and night would be a total different feel. It is smart of them to employ the theme of blue and white, as though dining in the sky. The glass window has brought in full ray of sunlight, giving the place the best lighting for Instagram photo taking. Walk around to be impressed with the 360° view of Penang.
Security is tight for us to get on to 59th floor. We have made reservation earlier, thus we went straight to the security gate located next to Maybank. Then, we were given the visitor pass to stick on our shirt. Full security escort until we get to the main entrance of 59th Dining Room.
International Buffet is their theme, selection includes, Malaysian delights, Chinese Dim Sum, Japanese Cuisine, Thai Cuisine, Italian Cuisine and of course the Western. Different kind of buffet would be offered during Festive season like Ramadan. The choices offered here are enormous, I was pretty impressed with the big size of lobster and oysters. They are efficient on refilling their dishes so as to clean up our table. Fried ice cream lover would love here as they have this as one of their dessert.
Note: On a separate visit, my friend found their selection choices are lesser, missing the lobster and oysters.
