Yi Kei Kafe 義记 @ Perak Road, Penang

Yi Kei has ceased operation.

Yi Kei Kafe is another new eatery at Perak Road, featuring their signature traditional pork noodle. It is located in proximity to Patron Petrol Station, but facing Jalan Perak. A simple and straightforward dining space offering noodle, porridge, soups and snacks from breakfast hour until supper hour.

Their Traditional Pork Thick Mee Hoon (RM 7.50) came with thick broth and the natural sweetness from the result of hours boiling with pork bone. The treasures in this bowl of scrumptious noodles not only just minced pork, but with inner parts like intestine, liver, heart and kidney. However, we found something jelly white thing which we then found out it to be pork brain. We were not a fans of these inner parts, we shall opted for the version with just minced pork next time. You can always order for add on such as fish head, yam rice, meat ball or egg.

Another try was their Thai Style Tom Yum Maggie with Fish Slices (RM 11). Spicy hot and thick broth with fresh fish. Although we always prefer fried fish to accompany tom yum, their fresh fish slices quite a good option too. Especially during this rainy season, this bowl of noodle has been a great body warmer.
