Previously located at Krystal Point, Bayan Baru, Xuan Feng restaurant has joined the cohort of various cuisine restaurants at Elite Avenue. Being an Asian fusion restaurant, the dishes mainly bearing the genes of either Chinese or Japanese cuisine, with a rather reasonable price in an air-conditioned settings.
Looks alike wanton noodles dried version, Pork Chop Ramen (RM 12.90) comes with a generous amount of pork chops, ramen drenched with dark soy sauce and a semi boiled egg. The barbecue pork chops were extremely pleasing to the taste buds as it was nicely barbecued, possessing a tender soft texture. On top of that, the little burnt skin at the side particularly has given the pork chop a crispy skin sensation.
Nevertheless, the characteristics of ramen noodles were lacking as the noodles were not wavy nor springy, and it tasted more like regular yellow noodles doused with dark soy sauce for us.
Crispy Chicken Curry Rice (RM14.90) that attracted our attention as the chicken chop looked real tempting from the picture. However, the whole dish turned to be just mediocre. There was an overdosing of dough when preparing the fried chicken, resulted the chicken was rather tasteless and lacking the scent of frying. Moreover, the chicken skin was loose and detached from the chicken meat totally.
The curry was normal and it could have been better if the curry scent and spiciness are intensified, giving it a stronger curry taste.
The arrangement of chairs and tables in the restaurant made the pathway become narrow, especially when there is a crowd of people in the restaurant.
