During our Thailand holiday two years ago, we have been in love with their delectable coconut ice cream with coconut flesh served in coconut shell. Sangkaya, the Malaysia Founded brand has emerged and rapidly growing into franchise chain in Malaysia, having their selling point on premium coconut ice cream. There are 4 outlets in Penang-Gurney Plaza, Queensbay, Mydin Bukit Mertajam and Elit Avenue.
We went for the Elit's outlet. While we were studying their menu in front the shop, their waitress speedily greeted us with great smile and explaining their signature dessert from the menu. There are ample of sitting spaces in the dessert house, but may not be sufficient on the weekend.

We went for their Signature Coconut Ice Cream (RM 10.50), allowing us to have 4 scoops of ice cream and 3 natural toppings of our choice. For the 4 scoops of ice cream, you may opted for just coconut or Cha Yen (Thai milk tea infused), or best with the combo of both. The coconut ice cream was creamy and smooth, exuding refreshing coconut fragrance. Whereas, Cha Yen stand out surprisingly, the aromatic tea scent has caused a playful twist in our mouth. Customers are allowed to add 3 preference toppings as much on your own. We picked sweet red beans, oat flakes and peanut. The price a bit ridiculously pricey but we are satisfied with the quality.
We take away The 'Real' Coconut shake (RM 8.90), freshly blended coconut water and coconut flesh with ice, then topped with a scoop of their coconut ice cream. Creamily thick in refreshingly chill sensation. Nice to have in scorching hot day.
