We do not usually buying souvenir during vacation. Most of the souvenir are made of cheap materials and wasn't environmental friendly. However, this Taiwan trip has triggered us to spend instead. In fact, we have to say that buying things we really like to use or eat is a true enjoyment process. That is how money should be managed, i.e. money should make us happy!
我们一向都不注重在旅行买伴手礼回家，原因多半伴手礼都很不环保，而且不实用。这次台湾之旅却让我们破费了，为的就是我们自己馋嘴啦。买回家自己喜爱吃和用的，花费也是种乐趣！
Okay, let's take a look at the whole collection of what we purchased, or should we put it as our recommendation what to buy in Taiwan.
好吧！来看看我们败家的收获，或者说是我们推荐来台湾买些什么。
1. My Scheming Blackhead Removal 黑头终结粉刺拔模组
There are too many cosmetics products selling at affordable price from various shop in Taiwan - Little Three, Etude House, 86 shop and many more. It has really tempted Shirleen to purchase a lot of products there but she cancelled her thought, knowing the results will only be reflected provided continuing usage of the products.
台北有好多化妆保养品，都卖得价格平民- 小三美日，86小舖， Etude House 等等。弄得Shirleen都心痒痒要买，但还是取消念头，因为这些产品得持续用才见效，回到马来西亚后得从小三美日网站网购才买到了。
However, My Scheming Blackhead Removal has been on our must buy list in Taiwan. This is because we are sick of the rough surfaces on the nose and the pain from manual pressing the blackhead is unbearable! Just need 3 steps: deep pores demineralized, apply activated carbon mask, skin clarifying pore treatment. We each got a box of My Scheming Blackhead Removal from Little Three for 199 NTD, and so far the results have been satisfactory. Strongly recommended!
对我们说，这黑头终结粉刺拔模组是我们来台湾必买的。我们被草莓鼻困扰很久了，挤压草莓鼻又太痛了。用这拔模组就方便了，三个步骤：毛孔软化，黑拔模，毛孔收缩。简单方便！我们一人购入一盒，199新台币，效果还蛮满意的。如果要更深层清理黑头，可以再用挤压法。我们强力推荐哦！
2. Sugar & Spice Nougat
Nougat from Taiwan, what? I thought the best nougats come from Australia? If you have the same thinking as I had, then it is time to correct your perception.
Sugar & Spice is bakery spreading across Taiwan which sells various cakes, pineapple tarts and serve as a good place to buy souvenirs. On top of that, their nougats is one of the best! I was never an avid lover of nougat because I hate sweets and its stickiness on teeth. However, Sugar & Spice nougats are totally changes my thought on nougats. The sweetness level is moderate, it is not sticky and most importantly, it has decent taste. We bought a pack of original nougat for 180 NTD.
来台湾买牛扎糖？牛扎糖不是澳洲出名吗？如过你和我拥有同样想法，那就错了。
糖村可以在台湾北部，中部和南部都可以找到，甚至中国大陆都有。他们售卖各种甜点，例如蛋糕，黄梨酥，糖果，巧克力等等。绝对是买伴手礼的好地方。我们提别爱他们家的牛轧汤。我本身就不怎么喜欢牛扎糖，我本身不爱甜食，加上牛扎糖粘牙。可是，糖村的牛扎糖改变了我对牛扎糖的看法。甜得适中，不会太粘，最重要美味。我们买了一包原味牛扎糖回家，一包180新台币。

3. Eslite Bookstore 诚品书店
If you enjoy reading, then Eslite Bookstore is a definitely must visit place in Taiwan. There are plenty Eslite Bookstore in Taipei but please bear in mind there is only one 24 hours Eslite Bookstore, which is located at Dunnan district and accessible via MRT Zhongxiao dunhua station (take exit 6).
喜欢阅读的一定要到诚品书店去。台北有很多间诚品，可是只有一件是二十四小时开放，就是在敦南区，只要搭捷运到忠孝敦化站（第六出口）。
You will be amazed by the collection of books offered here and we wish we could spend a whole day here.
On top of that, foreigners can enjoy 5% off when purchase over 1000 NTD worth of goods and will directly get tax refund when purchasing over 3000 NTD. You just need to flash your passport.
你会被他们店里书的系列给震撼到，我们多希望有足够时间在书店待上一整天呢。

4. Jiu Fen Peanut Cakes 九份郭金山的花生
This high calories peanut cakes at Jiu Fen old street might seem ordinary but the taste would leave you astonished. It is akin an explosion of peanut scent in your mouth upon consuming it, leaving us no choice but to take another piece peanut cake!
The expiry date is not long thus remember to finish them fast after buying it for your friends and family.
这高卡路里的花生饼在九份老街购获，看起来普通，但好吃到要跳起来。咬了一口，你会发现花生香味瞬间爆发，让我们吃了停不下来。
这花生饼的截止日期不会太久，记得和你的家人朋友赶快吃完。
5. Ginger Tea 姜母茶
Ginger Tea is considered one of the must buy in Taiwan for us, as the ginger tea sold there has an unique and strong taste of ginger. Most of the ginger tea here has been premixed with brown sugar.
It is believed ginger tea gives multiple health benefits, including improve blood circulation, digestive system, lower blood pressure and for ladies, it reduces menstrual pain. Various shops in Taiwan actually sells ginger tea, and do pick the one that you like the most after trying it.
The ginger tea is available in many flavour, and each of them deliver their distinctive health benefits. Do check out with the shop to derive into a decision that suit you the best.
姜母茶也是对我们来说必买，台湾姜茶的姜味很香很重，是用黑糖炖煮的。
姜茶相信可以帮助我们血液循环，提升消化能力，降低血压；而对女生有减少经痛的帮助。在台湾有好多家店都有卖，而却很多种品牌。你可以先试了，再买。
姜母茶有不同口味，各有不同的作用。可以询问店员，他们很乐意的介绍来满足你的需求。
7. Cream Pie 奶油酥条
We never paid attention to the shop selling cream pies in Hualien as we thought, how different or great a cream pie would be? However, we were proven to be wrong later.
While waiting for train at Hualien station, we had some free time to spare so we walked to the shop - Hualien 99 Gold Food for a window shopping, and ended up spending some cash there as we simply could not resist the temptation of the cream pies here!
Walking into the shop was like walking into a cookie house, with assortment of cookies displayed and samples ready for you to try. Apart from cream pies, they have eggs and honey cakes and some other products.
We stick to the most basic cream pie for 100 NTD each pack. It was one of the best cream pie we ever had and the price was affordable too! A pack comes with 20 sticks crisp cream pies with aromatic garlic scent. Best eaten originally without dipping into coffee as coffee will destroy the smell.
在花莲时，我们并没有多注意卖奶油酥条的店，想说有什么特别呢？哪里知道，过后发现我们太过分的错了。
在花莲车站等时，还有点时间就走去附近-花莲99黄金馔食。试了过后，就不考虑的掏腰包买了奶油酥条！
一走进店里就像走进饼干屋，各种各类的饼干靓丽的呈现在展览架里，还可以试吃。除了奶油酥条，还有黄金Q饼和黄金蛋蜂蜜酥等等。
我们还是买了店家出名的奶油酥条，一包100新台币。这是我们吃过最好吃的，而且价格合理！一包有20条奶油酥，很香的蒜味。别拿奶油酥点咖啡，咖啡会破坏它原来的香味。

8. Hualien Muaji 花莲麻糬饼
Hualien Muaji reputation has well spread across the region. Origin from the Amis tribe, it was called "Dulun" which means ferry in Chinese. It used to be a delicacy available only in ceremonies or on special holidays by the aboriginal tribes but now it is commercially available.
It is made from glutinous rice ball or millet which give arise the chewy skin texture, and enclosed within are fillings with different flavours. In fact, new flavours are being invented from time to time.
花莲麻糬饼是台湾闻名的，来自阿美族杜仑。以前都只是在重要节日才吃，现在已是演变成商业化了。QQ的糯米馅和有点酥酥的饼皮，内陷有多种口味选择，都是经过时间创新的进化，
Hualien renowned Muaji shop will be Zeng Ji or Ah Mei, as their shops are located at every street of the Golden Triangle and it is impossible to miss it. We are fated to shop at Ah Mei Muaji shop only.
The shop is never stingy to provide the samples for us to try. In fact, samples were provided for almost all flavours to the extent we were embarrassed to try anymore. Then we came into a serious problem, there were too many flavours to pick so how can we pick all as all of them were delicious?
花莲麻糬饼，最出名的有两家店，增记和阿美，在金三角商圈到处可以看到分行。我们先来到阿美店，就在他们店破费了。
阿美店一点都不吝啬提过样品品尝，每种口味都可以试吃到。但这么多口味，如何选择呢？
Thus, we settled for a mix flavour package with 4 flavours available for 120 NTD each. Well, I believe the muaji best taken fresh as the taste was slightly different when we tried them after we back in Malaysia. The texture of the skin remains chewy but the filling taste has receded. Nevertheless, it still look good as a souvenirs for family and friends!
最后，我们买了综合包装，有四种口味，120新台币。过后发现麻糬饼好像得新鲜吃才是最好。我们带回马来西亚后，觉得口感依然QQ没错，可是味道好想没那么香了。无论如何，麻糬饼依然是伴手礼的好选择！

9. Pineapple cakes 凤梨酥
We saved the best for the last. Having come across and tested a few pineapple cakes in Taipei, we ended up buying at Sin Ruei Mai. We regard the pineapple cakes here are one of the best we have tried, and have no regret buying them despite the higher price.
最好的当然留到最好对不对？试了台北几家的凤梨酥，最后决定在新瑞唛买。算是我们尝过最棒的，可惜价钱不菲所以没买太多盒回家。
Sin Ruei Mai has 4 shops across Taipei as of 2015, namely at Chang Ji Street, Yan Ping Street, Chong Qing Street and Roosevelt Street. Since 1991, Sin Ruei Mai has won award for 5 times and its quality has never been compromised despite gaining fame. Insistence of using imported New Zealand butter is one of their strong point.
在2015年，台北就有四家分行，就在昌吉街，延平街，重庆街和罗斯福街。从1991起得了五次食品金牌冠军，品质依然保持。他们强调用纽西兰的安佳奶油，也是他们的卖点哦。
They have two types of pineapple cakes - normal pineapple cakes and local Taiwan pineapples cakes. What are the differences between these two?
他们有两种凤梨酥-凤梨酥和土凤梨酥。两种有何分别呢？
Pineapple cakes are made from pineapples and the taste is slightly sweet, and the pineapple texture is smoother. The pineapple cakes here have compact and intact fillings, leaving no space for air to go through in between the pineapple. Every bites of it leave a strong and moderate sweet pineapple taste lingering in the mouth. The greed for more pineapple cakes grow after testing a piece of it, rendering the calories concern thought obsolete.
凤梨酥使用纯真凤梨制，有些甜儿内陷的口感较华。他们家的凤梨酥内陷扎实，皮薄。每口吃起来有着淡淡的凤梨鲜甜味，在口里回荡着。吃了一颗，会兴起了贪念在吃多一颗。
Local Taiwan pineapple cakes are actually pineapples cakes made from local taiwan pineapple, thus the taste is slanted toward sourish and more fibres are present. Despite being an individual who dislike sourish, the sour taste in this pineapple cakes are surprisingly nice. Moreover, the fibre gave it a natural feeling, and perhaps it is good for digestive system as well. The taste is a perfect balance of sweet and sour taste.
土凤梨酥是采用倒地的土凤梨，味道有些偏酸，还吃得到凤梨的纤维在。两种我们都很喜欢，土凤梨的纤维口感让我们吃起来有种吃着自然凤梨的感觉，也许对消化系统很好。味道在甜和酸之间取得很好的平衡。
A packet of 12 pieces of pineapple cakes cost 336 NTD while local Taiwan pineapple cakes cost 420 NTD. Despite the fact we manage to find other pineapple cakes selling ranging from 250 - 350 NTD, we still come back here, bleeding our wallet to purchase here. Reason being simply they are the best and worth the pennies spent.
一盒12块凤梨酥要价335新台币而土凤梨酥420新台币。就算我们找到别的牌子售价大概250到350新台币左右，我们还是回来新瑞麦买。一分钱一分货嘛，值得!
