This little mobile burger stall - Njoy Burger at Batu Maung has rose to the top rank in the end of last year after getting wide coverage in the internet. It was stipulated that they served one of the best burger in the town, particularly their fried chicken burger was rumoured to be on par with KFC. Driven by curiosity and strong positive feedback from friends, we decided to make a trip there even knowing we might have to wait for an hour or even more, just for a burger.
We almost made an U-turn back to home upon reaching there after seeing the unbelievable long queue. It was 11:30pm then but still there was an exodus of people, swarming into the tiny alley just to savour the famous fried chicken burger. Mind you, the people in the queue was just waiting to place an order! There were still many sitting at the available place and have not got their burgers yet.
Since we have came purposely that far, we might just wait as well. It took us about a ridiculous 40 minutes before coming to our turn to place an order. Upon placing an order, tell them which table you are seated and within a while then the burger will be served.
We ordered the famous Special Fried Chicken Burger + Egg (RM 6.50). The whole burger was drenched in a strong peppery sauce, which we did not really enjoy as it killed off the taste of the fried chicken. The usage of fried chicken instead of regular patty for the burger had induced a different sensation indeed. It was a great burger but we believed the media might have exaggerated its taste.
The other burger we had was Hot Stone Special Grilled Burger + Egg (RM6.50). The chicken patty was mediocre, and we preferred the fried chicken burger version.
Despite there were many people flooding here for their burger, the chef still maintained his professionalism and cool, dealing with all customers patiently. However if you are coming here for dinner, you might want to head somewhere else for a meal first. Otherwise you land yourself in gastric pain. Anybody has experiencing NJoy burger lately and is their queue still that ridiculous?
