Alor Setar Cheap Economy Rice

Economy rice is never my favorite whenever I dine in any hawker center. It is not because the fear of calories load in the rice but merely due to the inconsistency in economy rice pricing. There are a few occasions I have encountered some exorbitant price charged for a simple plate of economy rice, particularly in towns. 

Hence, I am known as not a big fan of economy rice. However, If I have the urge to get some rice as lunch of dinner, I will opt for fried rice instead but I tend to give exceptional for this economy rice stall in Alor Setar at Jalan Pintu Sepuluh. Not only it is nice and home cook feeling, and the price is affordable too!

The price for above plate of economy rice with a piece of drumstick, a piece of fried beancurd, a handful of long beans and glass noodles cost me RM 6.5 which rather surprised me. The dishes have a home cook feeling and the drumstick still hot.

On a separation occasion, I reaffirmed the price again by ordering dishes depicted on above picture - a handful of vegetable and long beans, a piece of fried chicken and a piece of fried beancurd and it was only RM 5.6!  

Even though I always take fried chicken, fried beancurd and long bean, it does not mean the stall only sell limited variety of dishes. In fact, they are selling all sort of mouth watering home cook dishes. Do stop by here for a lunch if you are in Alor Setar!
