Our first try of their Hot and Spicy steamboat was at their first shop at Chai Leng Park many years back. The broth's hot level is so unbearable and burning as if we were at hell. This year, they expand their business to Penang Island, strategically located at the heart of Georgetown on lane Abu Siti. The owner is a Taiwanese, you will find her speaking in her native Taiwan essence if she is around. Their menu is very compact from steamboat, single meal, light meal to set meal in the flavour of Taiwan.
Reddish hot pot of Hot & Spicy steamboat 麻辣地狱火锅 (RM 35) comes with lot of balls, enoki mushroom and vegetables. A bowl of white rice is crucial to enjoy this devilish dish without hurting your tummy. Tips to savour their soup is taking a small sip each time, savouring the spicy pleasure in your mouth, and feel the warmth captured in your stomach next.
Chicken Nuggets 台味盐酥鸡 (RM 13.90) is their signature dishes. This addictive finger snack posses the contradiction of crisp and tender, at the nice level of salty. Chicken breast is used, made into boneless and cut into finger size. It is then deep fried into golden brown for bready skin.
