Foong Yean, that has been exist at the Bayan Lepas area for at least a decade old is renown serving delectable Cantonese cuisine at the affordable price tag. This place has been frequent by the corporate patrons around the FTZ zone, as well as those living in vicinity for practicing their family dinner hangout routine. Though this place is labeled as air conditioning (crucial label for restaurant back then), the place not as chilly as expected due to the limited space and always been full house. However, the consistent-ly toothsome dishes especially their signature Indonesian Prawn is the reason for returning. It take a little patient to queue up for seats, stay cool and browse through their menu to prepare for your order.
Indonesian Prawn (recommended) |
Homemade bean curd with "Jin Eah" Ham and crab meat |
Stir Fried Lotus Roots with celery and almond |
Sea Cucumber in Claypot |
"Saliva" Chicken, off menu dish |
The must-order dish on every table, Indonesian Prawn. The bold and aromatic cream curry perfectly cling on the fresh and juicy prawn, making us eager to top up more with just the curry. Homemade bean curd which also their best sellers, is soft and silken but hold so well that melted in our mouth. Their stir fried lotus is mind-blowing good, thinly sliced lotus that still crunchy upon served, lightly season but to perfection with celery and enhanced with the almond aroma. The off menu dish, "Saliva" Chicken was somehow disappointing for us. Steamed chicken in the bed of sauces that giving a hint of vinegar, but the addition of sesame do help though.
