SPICE, the heart beat of Orient of the Pearl, Penang
The completion of Setia SPICE (formerly known as PISA) this year has created another iconic landmark for Penang. This is a project from the collaboration between the Penang State government and S P Setia Berhad to realize a vision of establishing Penang as a premier destination for world class conventions and events.

They are the first hybrid solar powered convention centre in the world and being the First Eco Green (GBI) Certified Convention Centre in Asia.
The whole area made up of:
- 70 000 sq.ft Subterranean Penang International Convention & Exhibition Centre
- 80 000 sq. ft. Arena event space
- Aquatic centre with largest indoor Olympic size pool with salt-water treatment, largest kids splash pool, competition diving platform, gym and clubhouse facilities
- 7 acre beautifully landscaped roof garden with the largest urban spice garden in Malaysia
- Canopy, the one-stop lifestyle hub
- Business Class Hotel Opening in 2019
The kitsch roof is an eyes catcher for passerby. The unique curve architecture is composed from 1600 custom made triangle glass, accompanied by 654 energy efficient light bulbs that cheer up every night.
The amazing 7 acre rooftop urban garden has used the plants rooted at the time that this place was called PISA, added with 70 ton of soil and designed into a modern garden. It is now open to the public again as a perfect venue for recreational activities. Enjoy your morning or evening jog in an ambiance of freshness and openness.

Children playground on the roof with imported facilities cater for special need children. Resilient rubber tiles, various unique and fun toys make it an ideal place for family outing with kids.

The world-class convention centre comprises contiguous space of 48, 000 sq.ft flexible column-free ballroom that can accommodate 400 round banquet tables or maximum capacity of 8000 theatre seating. For the bigger events, the 20, 000 sq.ft grand foyer area outside can be extended out to accommodate another 150 round banquet tables with integration between both spaces. There are supported by 13 function rooms, both on the lower and ground floors which allow guests to hold meetings or functions in a smaller group.
During your event, their dedicated food and beverage team will ensure efficient service at all time. That explained SPICE been awarded as the first convention centre to implement ISO 22000:2005 (Food Safety Management).

Business class 25 levels hotel is targeted to be finished by year 2019, located just next to convention centre.
