The action-oriented venue of Alor Setar - Stadium Darul Aman will metamorph into a food beacon during fasting (puasa / Ramadan) month. It is regarded as the largest Bazaar Ramadan in Alor Setar, featuring roughly more than 100 stalls selling assortment of food. When the evening approaches at about 5pm, an exodus of crowd will be seen thronging the area, causing massive jam within the vicinity. Nevertheless, the rewards to gustatory journey is truly genuine and amazing by having a trip here during Ramadan month.
This is the first times we ever seen fried clams in Bazaar Ramadan. There are at least 5 of such stalls and we were wondering are there really that many clams fanatics?
At the meantime, look at the piling of seafood portion served on each of the serving. Totally an iodine boast for the day.
All the grilled food. An excellent choice to replenish some protein and energy to the diet during fast breaking.
Some of the regulars staple that we often seen in Bazaar Ramadan. It still remained one of the best choices to buy, simply we never get bored of Murtabak taste and Malay style rice.
More of carbohydrate choices available. There are too many of stalls selling similar food here, rendering the decision making process even more difficult.
This is the phenomenal scene at Bazaar Ramadan at Stadium Darul Aman, and in fact is an unique identity here. You will see tonnes of bees. Yes, we meant real bees flying at this stall - Teh Bunga Beratur simply because they are using real honey into the chrysanthemum tea to give it a real natural taste!
It is very unlikely that you will get bitten by the bees, as I had no such experience even though join the queue for about 20 minutes there. There is always a long queue waiting for this. Interesting food worth the wait nevertheless!
Surprise to see some Chinese influenced kuih or dessert here.
Porridge and pickled fruits are available too. Not an usual stall in any Bazaar Ramadan.
Then the most famous food in Kedah - Laksa is selling around the Bazaar Ramadan here. In case you are not Kedahan, then you should give a try on Kedah style laksa. No doubt you will be caught in surprise by its taste!
Without doubt, the saliva started to droll when we see all the kuih-muih stalls here. Everything were so tempting!
Make sure you make a visit to Bazaar Ramadan here if you happen to be in Alor Setar. If you are a Kedahan and never been here, it is definitely worth paying a visit here with your family to enjoy the atmosphere and pamper you and your family with a scrumptious meal for the buka puasa.
