When we first drove through Arena Curve, we thought Thai Food Soho Cafe is the regular themed cafe we often seen in Georgetown, serving some barista coffee and some cakes perhaps. However, it turned out to be a surprise when we visited there. No, it was not any cafe next door but just an eatery serving Thai and Malay food in a minimalist and no air-conditioned settings. We were not disappointed anyway, and in fact eager to try out some of the Thai and Malay food.
Remarks: The eatery has since ceased operation as we spotted on Jun 2017.
The eatery offers a range of stir fried dishes, set menu and fried rice with different accompany dishes. We ordered a plate of fried rice and could not really recall what type of fried rice it was, but the taste was great. The rice was decently fried, and it was served according to the Thai style, whereby spices that yield different taste was provided at one side.
We also ordered a bowl of tomyam seafood (RM 7.00) and Kangkung Ikan Masin (RM 5.00). Featuring salty fish on the water spinach introduced a nice mild salty taste, making the plain water spinach enjoyable. Tomyam was burning hot, slowly got our sweat dropped after few sips but we thought the taste could better.
Generally, this eatery serves as a place for a quick fix of lunch or dinner, and not a cafe as the name claims. We were satisfied with the food served and might come back in future shall we ran out of dining choices nearby.
