When it comes to Penang Laksa, many would naturally think of Laksa nearby Kek Lok Si Temple, or known as Air Itam Laksa. However when it comes to our personal pick, Laksa Shell Station at Farlim is always our favourite.
Though the shop has some funny name - Shell Station but it is nowhere near any Shell patrol stations, except one which are a few streets away. It is hearsay they operated the Shell petrol station previously and rose to fame prior moving into current location
I enjoyed the laksa here due to its thick broth and the chef is generous in throwing some deboned mackerel (ikan kembung) slices. It has a balance of sweetness, sourness and spiciness. Each bowl cost RM 5, and I always order an extra fried spring roll to be dunked into the broth.
If laksa ain't your preference, there are lor mee, claypot mee and etc. Besides, the shop also sells various Penang desserts such as cendol and ice kacang, though the cendol was unimpressive.
