What is Nasi Ganja apart of it having a catchy name?
On a random occasion, we spotted this stall bearing the banner Nasi Ganja at Sungai Ara town. Initially we thought it is a marketing gimmick to replicate the renowned Nasi Ganja in Kedai Kopi Yong Suan, Ipoh, but this stall actually possess their very own identity.
The name Nasi Ganja is derived due to the usage of 27 different ingredients to churn out a big pot of yellowish rice. It looks like Nasi Biryani from the appearance but the taste speaks otherwise.
Once in the mouth, a mixture blend of aromatic spice permeated all the lining of the tongue with a hint of spiciness followed suit. We do not mind even just having the rice alone. It was such a temptation.
Of course they have an array of dishes to be chosen from. Not expecting any peculiar from the selections available but the choices are more than enough to make up for a great plate of dinner.
We had a piece of fried chicken, some green beans and a piece of big onion egg. The only thing we had to lament was the total charred surface of the onion egg. Other than that, chicken meat was a little bit stiff but the taste compensated it. If you love burning sensation, take some of the sambal available.
