Dandy Modern Food is an exciting eatery that has been established in Arena Curve recently. We believed they are the first eatery that sells Mediterranean and fusion cuisine in a very established settings, such as air-conditioned, elegant furniture, open kitchen concept with customized and big ovens, spacious and cozy environment for dining. Moreover, the extensive menu covers a whole range of food, from the popular Shawarma, kebabs to the least seen dishes such as vegetarian falafel. Besides, 2 storey eatery is open for corporate and function booking that can fit up to 90 pax on the second floor, and they have a plan to setup a live band stage there. On top of that, it is notable that authentic Mediterranean cuisines are served here as they have 2 chefs originating from Syria.
The Shish Tawook (RM 20) had some marinated chicken cubes grilled to perfection. It is juicy inside, maintain an equal colour upon slicing the chicken cubes. Drizzle it with the yogurt to elevate its taste profile. While we agreed the bread is nice, eating it together with the marinated chicken cubes seems to take away the flavour of the chicken. It is then garnished with some nicely cubed sweet tomatoes.
Dandy Sandwich Clubs (RM 20) is one of our favorite here. The ciabatta breads are crisp at the skin and fluffy in the interior, rendering a very pleasant mouth biting sensation. It comes with lettuce leaves, layers of beef bacon, chicken breast, fried egg and cheese, then was nicely seasoned with honey mustard dressing to gives it a balance of zesty and sweetness. I would be very much grateful if this had to be my breakfast for everyday.
It is notable that all the breads and rolls here are rolled and kneaded by chefs in the kitchen and not purchased from somewhere else. Thus, Dandy Modern Food is the only place whereby you can get tantalized with such an awesome breads.
Vegetable Falafel is such a rare find in the town. It is actually deep fried fluffy chickpea and fava bean. Then, it is served along with the brownish coloured fritter made of mushroom onion, pickles and own made bread.
Blueberry Cheese Cakes (RM 13.00) is equally impressive with its creaminess and compactness. It has a thick crust in the bottom, giving it some texture equilibrium between crisp and soft. The cake is well balanced in term of sweetness and sourness. Again, the cakes are made by themselves.
Macaroons are one of the highlight here. These colorful Macaroons are imported from France, thus the quality is topnotch. It is sweet, yet not cloying to cause displeasure. It is served along with raspberry and passion fruit juices to strike the sweet macaroons with an acidity. Currently there are 6 different macaroons flavours here, namely Raspberry, Pistachio, Lemon, Chocolate, Passion Fruits and Salted Caramels. All of them tasted awesome but if we were to rank them, Pistachia definitely stood up as our preference, followed by salted caramel and chocolate.
Then there are Turkish Tea and Turkish Coffee. While we do not know how to appreciate the zesty turkish coffee, the refreshing turkish tea is our favourite with its refreshing taste. Refilling is available.
Currently Dandy Modern Food is having a special drink named Mango Tango Milkshake. It has a nice vanilla taste with fresh mango and basil. The taste is dynamite and refreshing.

On 2 separate visits with our friends, we managed to test out other category from their big menu. Lets start from their Pasta range, we picked their Shell Pasta with Green Peas and Anchovies. It seem like a fusion of Western and Malaysian element, but the taste hit right to the point with balance of salty, and layers of texture from the peas and anchovies. While the sun dried tomato and mushroom further heighten the flavor.
Since we learnt that all the bread and dough are prepared by their own kitchen, plus the open oven really convinced us to try their Picnic Pizza. Varieties of meat gloriously topped the thin crust pizza, which evenly spread with barbecue sauce. Handful of mozzarella cheese then bonded everything perfectly.
Next we had Inferno Spicy Burger for a bit of spicy hot excitement. 2 thick jalapeno cheddar stuffed patties offers with the option of either chicken or beef, then layered with caramelize onion, spicy mayo and melted cheddar cheese. Dandy did not go easy with the sides. Fries are nicely fried to golden and well seasoned, while the salsa is appetizing and serving the purpose of breaking the savoury taste from the poultry. Even the burger's bread itself is own-made by their chef. Our friend then ordered Summer at the Sea which came with seasoned pan fried fish that spread with coriander tartar sauce. The fish is fresh, and well complemented by their buttery bread and the warm pineapple.
