If you are looking for a wonderful place with cozy environment to enjoy a dinner paired with glasses of wine without incurring extravaganza spending, then Muchacha, QE2 restaurant at Weld Quay shall be a worthy consideration. While sampling the delicate western dishes, one can enjoy the sea breeze, then it get even better with a sip of wine. Let it be a rendezvous for a group of friends, a private session for a couple, a dinner or a drinking session here,it all can be done here depending on how you execute your budget.
The restaurant is practically located on the sea, located side by side with its sister restaurant Chin's Stylish Chinese Restaurant joined by a bridge. It offers an alfresco area for patrons whom prefer to enjoy the sea breeze, or an indoor setting which yields a romantic settings.
We truly enjoy their wonderful creation of Chicken Shepherd Pie (RM 17.00). The mashed potato was a showcase of the chef's mastery by exhibiting a smooth texture, a right level of saltiness and a decent buttery sensation. Couple with the chicken minced meat concealed beneath the mashed potatoes, it gives a refreshing sensation with a touch of rightly seasoned concoction with some saltiness. You may substitute the chicken to beef, though we were puzzled why lamb was not an option available.
Another highlight at the restaurant would be their wood fired pizza, as justified by its big oven in the center of restaurant whereby a chef was stationed there baking the pizzas profusely. They have an extensive menu for the pizza and we had a seafood pizza, The Marina (RM 40). It is an Italian style pizza with crisp edge and soft at the dough, then topped with fresh seafood, cheese, tomatoes and garnished with arugula leaves. Whilst we liked the pizza with its softness and nicely balanced taste, we would definitely enjoyed a much cheesy taste.
For desserts, we had a piece of Tiramisu (RM 9.00) and a slice of Apple Pie (RM 7.00). While the tiramisu checked all the ticks for having nice coffee and cocoa flavour, we still prefer an alcohol version of it. Meanwhile, the apple pie was nicely done, having its sliced apples blanketed and bound up a custardy coating, matching well with the vanilla ice cream given.
We had a great night here, taking the time slow by indulging the moments with a bottle of Bordeaux Merlot (RM 100) that gives a bright taste with fruity scent, coupled with nice settings in the restaurant.
