Rhythms of melodies were enchanting the
crowd in the evening of 10th September 2017 at Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort
& Spa, whereby local talented singers were competing for the crown in the
Grand Final of F.I.P's Got Talent - Season 2.
F.I.P's Got Talent Competition is a
singing competition launched by the hotel in 2016. It is opened to the public
and has attracted many young talented singers across the country.
12 finalists were vying to be crowned as
the champion in the grand finale after going through 3 elimination heats from
the initial 36 contestants.
The grand final offers a twist to the
standard singing competition format as the finalists were required to perform a
song of their own choice and a second song later as a duet. Each duet partner
was picked randomly at the end of third heat.
Gracing the event was Dato' Zainal
Abidin, the voice of iconic songs such as Hijau, Orak Arek and Kau di Hatiku.
Dato' Zainal was leading the panel of judges, which included Datin Angelina
Asmawi and 3 other judges. The crowd was further elated when he performed his solo hit "Hijau"
during the end of the event.
The competition was so intense that got
Dato' Zainal into a conundrum of picking the winners.

"Listen" by Beyoncé and duet with Miss Intan on the song
"Cinta" by Melly Goeslaw. She walked away with a cash of RM 3,000, 2
nights' stay at Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa and recording
sessions by Hits.
Meanwhile, Miss Intan was the second
runner-up with her solo performance on the song "Saving All My Love for
You" by Whitney Houston and first runner-up was Jonathan Raj &
Somwanny with her performance on "Bang Bang" by Jessie J feat Ariana
Grande & Nicki Minaj.
"The upcoming competition and
showcase of singing prowess is set to further elevate the profile and status of
F.I.P. Lounge as a cutting edge entertainment hub of discovering new talents in
Penang," said Mr. Suleiman Tunku Abdul Rahman, the resort's director of
communications.
F.I.P's Got Talent Singing Competition is
jointly organized with Maverick Media Productions, an integrated promotions
consultancy based in Penang.
