Kelantan is famous of Nasi Dagang as a choice of breakfast, surprisingly. This is because Nasi Dagang consists of rice steamed in coconut milk, fish curry and extra ingredients such as fried shaved coconuts and some extra dishes, which I considered heavy to kick start the day. However, we ought to try it during our trip to Gua Musang as Nasi Dagang is Kelantanese's all time favorite. After a trial, it has come to a mutual understanding why Kelantanese love them as it is simply delicious!
While there might be numerous stalls or warung as the local call it in Kelantan selling Nasi Dagang in Gua Musang, we only had chance to try the corner lot in Kampung Baru Gua Musang, which was mentioned by Ah Xian in Food Moments dated 23 Nov 2014.
The stall is frequented by the locals living nearby, despite the dishes choice are limited to a few varieties only, namely fried chicken, eggs, fishes, and a few more options. This is due to the people come here for the taste of Nasi Dagang, especially the creamy texture rice, which had its taste further enhanced by the coconut curry.
Price wise is wallet-friendly as well. We could not recall how much it cost for 2 plates but should be RM 10++. If you stomach are not contended with rice only, feel free to grab some Malay cakes.
