KyoChon Korean Fried Chicken @ G Hotel, Gurney, Penang

Koreans are well known to have an obsession to combination of fried chickens and beers, known as chi-maek. Therefore, it is indisputable that when it comes to fried chickens, Koreans are the best in class and no one else should challenge them. Having said that, the Korean expert in fried chicken, KyoChon, which has been established since 1991 in Korea has set foot in shop lot beside G Hotel at Gurney Plaza, pampering Penangites' stomach with one of the best fried chickens ever.

Red Pepper Series Fried Chicken

Having been to KyoChon in South Korea and tasted the original version, the expectations we had were high. Fortunately, KyoChon Malaysia did not disappoint us. The fried chickens here were perfectly executed and mimic the ones we had in South Korea, except the fried chickens in South Korea possess a more juicy and tender meat. Nevertheless, the meat quality is still remarkably above average than the usual fried chickens we encounter elsewhere.

The portion served in KyoChon can be segregated into 2 till 20 pieces, or half and whole chicken. Trust us, 2 pieces are not enough as the portion size is relatively small. If you were looking for a full stomach, probably half or whole chicken are sufficient. However the price ain't cheap...

We had Red Pepper drumstick (2 pieces) and Honey Series Wingette and Drumette Fried Chicken (8 pieces) that comes to a total bill of RM 36, yet we did not feel the stomach satisfaction though the great was great. Big eaters out there, be prepared to go for a splurge of cash here ya.

Great thing is Korea Tea (RM 7) is refillable and they allowed it to be shared by 2 person maximum. If you want to practice the Korea chi-maek style, Soju, Asahi and other variants of alcohol drinks are served here as well.
