SPOON at G Hotel Kelawai strives to give you a memorable dining experience during Christmas Eve and Lunar New Year, as the contemporary French bistro with a touch of Peranakan cement tiles is all geared up with Christmas themed design and an array of scrumptious dishes to appease your gastronomy. Also, diners will be delighted to learn that SPOON rolls out the classic Beef Wellington at the craving station, on top of the regular Christmas must-have Roasted Turkey with traditional stuffing.

The men behind all the delicacies are Executive Sous Chef, Ong Ban Khoon with his culinary team. As Chef Ong specializes in Asian cuisine, you may find some touches of oriental flavours in the spread of dishes, particularly the hot dishes section. Chef Ong also emphasizes the true flavours of the dishes are done without usage of MSG, and every bits of the taste is derived from seasoning solely. Thus, warm up your stomach with a bowl of double boiled chicken soup with Enoki mushroom and lemongrass flavour or cream of cucumber with green apples.

Stroll along the hot dishes counter and we found more mouth-watering dishes such as Turkey Piccata Milanese, duck confit with berry sauce, grilled fish fillet on mushroom risotto (our favorite!) and Paella Valenciana, a Valencian dish of rice containing mixed seafood and vegetables cooked with homemade tomato sauce. All these are not commoners in buffet spread, thus be sure to really come here with an almost empty stomach.

Since it is a party session, do not miss out the gems of the night, Seafood on the Ice that has fresh prawns, crabs, mussels and scallops replenishes throughout the Christmas Eve to let you have a boast of seafood produce. If your courage is not there but yet wish to taste a bit of the fresh seafood, grab some smoked salmon or smoked mackeral.

It is interesting to celebrate your Christmas in Japanese style by grabbing some sushi and maki from the Japanese sushi section. On top of that, do not just linger at the main counters area, as there is a live action station serving Shawarma and Italian cuisine ranging from Penne, Linguine and Spaghetti.
For a more intense heat food, head to the outdoor area of SPOON cafe and pick from a range of items such as squid, King Prawn, Minute Steak, Lamb Chop, Bratwurst Sausages and the chefs to barbeque it for you. Oh wait, there are lobsters on the serving deck as well!
The treat during the festive session will be rendered incomplete if you never take a nip of everything at the dessert section! The counter is well decorated to reflect the Christmas ambiance, and coupled with Christmas caroling during the eve, the festive mood will be even more cherished. Ladies will second stomach for desserts will fall in love with variety of warm Christmas puddings served with Vanilla sauce, assorted Christmas cookies, Christmas Yule Log, New York Cheese Cakes, Chocolate Fountain and etc.

Each diner will get a free glass of sparkling wine at Taste Cafe or SPOON for all buffets too! If you really enjoy drinking, just add on RM 75 for free flow of house beer and wine!
