After introducing Indian Muslim and Malay Nasi Lemak in Alor Setar, it is time to try Chinese version - 亚清七爷咖喱饭 Ah Ching Nasi Lemak. Bearing a name after one of the deity in Chinese's belief, the stall is located at an unnoticeable location at Jalan Gangsa Alor Setar and it is only open during breakfast hour only. Such a heavy meal to start the day.
Ah Ching Nasi Lemak offers a variety of ingredients and all are prepacked in different wrapping paper of the stall, giving an easy identification. The most affordable ones would be Curry Chicken (RM 3.50), to the most premium breakfast served here Big Prawn + Sotong (RM 8.50).
All the curries are prepared by the owner himself, utilizing a variety of spices to give it a distinctive taste.
I had a pack of Curry Chicken + Prawn + Egg (RM 6.00). When I first open the packet, I thought the curry would give a fiery hot sensation but it was more toward to sweet side with a slight spiciness. The taste is great, as prepacking with curries allowed all the curries essence soaked and infused to all the rice. Therefore, do expect a packet of dry curry instead.
I took another pack of mutton (RM 6.50) for a trial but my preference still go for the former ones - Curry Chicken + Prawn + Egg.
