Olive Tree Hotel in Penang is offering an array of exquisite and classic Chinese dishes to celebrate the auspicious Chinese New Year 2018. Whether it is a Chinese set menu, steamboat or buffet, your palate is to be tantalized during this auspicious session.

From 8th January until 4 March 2018, enjoy the traditional 8-course Chinese set menu available for both lunch and dinner with the option of a private space. Choose from two finely crafted menus, MYR 888 nett and MYR 999 nett per table, featuring 8 prosperity dishes such as Double-boiled Fresh Ginseng and Dried Seafood Soup, Deep-fried Garoupa with Special Double-flavoured sauce, Braised sliced Abalone with Flower Mushrooms, Dried Oysters and Garden Greens, and Smoked Duck Rice wrapped in Lotus Leaf. Each menu will be served with an Olive Tree Yee Sang.

For 8-course Chinese set menu, a minimum order of 3 tables is required and surcharge applies for 2 tables and below. Advance 3 days booking is required. 

Of course, Chinese New Year is best celebrated with a round steamboat pot which symbolizes "Reunion" in Chinese (团圆). For MYR 555 nett for 10 persons, diners can opt for either the clear and natural sweet taste fish broth, or the fiery and hot Spicy Sichuan soup. 

The steamboat set is served with fresh ingredients such as Garoupa Fish, Fish Maws, Snow Crab Legs, Abalone Slices, Fish Filaments, Dumplings, a variety of greens and noodles. Each set also comes with Olive Tree Yee Sang, Chicken & Mushroom Claypot Rice and Dessert of the day. Add-on such as Chilled Baby Octopus, Honey Chicken Wings, Abalone Mushrooms, Lobsters Dumplings and etc are available. 

Diners for 8-course Chinese set dinner or Steamboat set on the evening of the Chinese New Year Reunion (15th February 2018) will have the privilege to be entertained by traditional live performance at The Olive function room.

On the 1st day (16th February) of Chinese New Year, the hotel will set to usher the year of the dog with a grand acrobatic lion dance at the main entrance. 

Sukkah Coffee House, the main restaurant of Olive Tree Hotel will roll out buffet lunch at MYR 118 nett per person on the 1st and 2nd day of Chinese New Year, featuring a mix of Chinese and International delight.

Olive Tree Yee Sang, which is prepared with the combination of fresh fruits and traditional ingredients is set to come back for dine-in and take away after popular demands at MYR 108 nett per set from 24 January until 3 March 2018.

A typical Chinese kampung house is being setup as the hotel main entrance as part of decoration theme to complete the wholesome experience of Chinese New Year.
