Beyond words can be used to describe this hipster cafe located along the bustling Chulia Street. Bearing the name Junk Cafe, the cafe hosted a mixture of antique or decorative items, perhaps certain people would think they are nothing spectacular but junks. The moment we walked into the cafe, we were stunned/amazed by its one of a kind design, and somehow we thought we walked into a voodoo museum instead. It is a great find in the town, and its forte is their homemade burger patty alongside with choices of coffee, ice cold beers or cocktails.
The array of whiskeys at the bar counter did impress us. However we did not sample any of the cocktails during our visit as it was still early in the day.
Full of Junk |
Grilled Vegetable |
As burgers are the cafe's forte, we ordered Full of Junk, which comes with grilled beef patty and Grilled Vegetable, a vegetarian inspired burger with the presence of feta cheese. Both the burgers are reasonably big and come with a standard price tag. The Grilled Vegetable's combination worked well and have a decent taste and well seasoned but the impression was we were having a salad sandwich instead of a burger.
Meanwhile, Full of Junk burger comes with a juicy and succulent beef patty and served along lettuce, tomato, sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions and tasty cheese. We thought the patty saltiness level could be tuned down for a more enjoyable eating experience, as every components of the burger worked decently except for the over seasoned patty.
