Upon arrival at Perth and checked into our Airbnb house, our host, Rose recommended us to Queens Tavern at Highgate for a dinner. It is a contemporary pub with rustic feel and woody design, offering a comfortable environment for a drink or meal.
As it was late it night (close to 9pm), most of the people in the restaurant was here for a drink instead of meals as per our observation, and the restaurant was half occupied only.
A glass of water was served complimentary after we have placed our order. The moment we took out our DSLR to snap the picture of the complimentary water, we can realize a few pairs of odd eyesight was thrown to us.
Our friend recommended us must try a steak during our Australia Trip if there is an opportunity, as she mentioned the steak here has a lot of differences compared to the ones we had in Malaysia. True indeed, we had a plate of 300gm Graziers Porterhouse Steakhouse (AUD 38) done in medium rare with red wine jus and the taste was enjoying. Meat was tender, and the 3 Australian prawns in pale pink topping the steak was fresh with a sea salt sensation, then a bite into it gives a firm yet moist texture.
The steak was eaten along with creamy garlic sauce, which was just nice to give a richer feeling to the steak. It was served along with Polenta chips, which looked alike tofu to us and it tasted unique.
The Pulled Pork Pizza (AUD 23) was big in size and clearly it was not meant for Asian one people's stomach. It is topped with pulled pork slices with delectable chipotle BBQ sauce with a significant number of fresh spinach. Taste was alright and average.
