无辣不欢 Mala Xiang Guo at the Promenade Penang brings in a new concept which is first in Penang - Chongqing stir fried hot pot!

At first glance, the restaurant seems to be another steamboat restaurant but rest assured you will be guaranteed a new experience. Such concept has been in the practice in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur but is a innovative concept we first encountered in Penang. Just like usual Chongqing steamboat style, you pick the ingredients you like, but the chef will stir fry for you, then what you need to do is just sit down and enjoy the stir fried hot pot!

There are a variety of ingredients available for you to pick. It will be weighed by 100 grams - Meat (RM 5.90 ) and Vegetable (RM 3.90) upon your selection, and you can choose to have it with glass noodles, maggi noodles or rice and preference level of spiciness. Service is swift, within less than 10 minutes we have received our pot of food.

The pot was stir fried with ginger, peanuts, onions and garlic to give it a nice taste. Dried chilies were prominent in our pot as we picked the mild level of spiciness, though it was alright still in the heat produced (Chongqing spiciness should be insanely hot we believe). Overall it was a great pot to enjoy!

Such a concept is made so that even one person can enjoy "steamboat", or even during rush hours you still able to savour a pot of food you enjoyed. In future, the restaurant is planning to launch the soup variant, so stay tuned!
