Kuih Culture is a new shop along the bustling Lebuh Kimberly that offers visitors a taste of Penang famous Nyonya Kuih. The shop dishes out a selection of Nyonya kuih, such as Kuih Talam, Kuih Bengka, Pulut Tai Tai, Ang Koo, Seri Muka (ranging from RM 1.20 - RM 1.50 per piece) and etc based on a daily rotational basis, alongside with other popular Penang items such as laksa, nasi lemak or nasi kunyit. Besides offering kuih and chendol supply, they too offers wedding, full moon and birthday catering packages. Kuih Culture occupies the lot which was Goh Huat Seng Steamboat previously.
During our short visit here, we observed the crews from kitchen were busy carrying trays of Nyonya kuih from the kitchen to the display counter, thus we are able to deduce the Nyonya kuih is made fresh in the kitchen here. On a personal preference, we liked the kuih here - not so sweet and texture is good. It is great to see traits of traditional Nyonya kuih did not diminish as Penang progressively developing.
You may pair the Nyonya kuih here with a cup of kopi or cham peng. If Penang weather is too humid and hot for you to tolerate, get a bowl of cendol to cool down yourself.
