Blue Chang Modern Thai Restaurant is a hidden Thai restaurant located within the vicinity of Blue Club at Lintang Burmah. They serve contemporary Bangkok cuisine in an air-conditioning settings, giving a strike difference compared to the traditional Thai eateries in outdoor settings. Having said that, the price tags are slightly higher in Blue Chang but we thought it was justifiable. Food quality was above average and certain dishes did impress us. However seating is rather limited here and it is advisable a reservation is made prior coming to prevent disappointment.
Tom Yum Seafood (RM 25) |
Century Egg with minced pork & holy basil (RM 18) |
Plain omelette (RM 8) |
As the usual practice in Thai restaurant, we had a Seafood Tomyam (RM 25). It was served in a big pot but the seafood quantity was minuscule but it was fresh. Tomyam was above average but it was served warm instead of hot to our disappointment, rendering a total reduced satisfaction on having the tomyam. Overall, it does not give us the "kick" expected from a bowl of gratifying tomyam.
On the other hand, Century Egg with Minced Pork & Holy Basil (RM 18) was a great choice for the night. The minced pork is nicely executed with great aroma, and somehow its gravy made a better choice to dress the white rice compared to tomyam. While there are a range of omelette in the menu such as crab omelette (which bears a higher price tag), we were recommended to have a Plain Omelette (RM 8) after the crew mentioned our choice might not be suitable for us with 2 people only. Amazingly, this plain omelette turned out to the be star for the night. It was fluffy, thin enough for enjoy and the egg aroma was intriguing.
Matcha Milk Tea (RM 12) |
The Matcha Milk Tea here has some serious kick of the Matcha taste.
