Li 力 is a local kopitiam style with modern vibes cafe located in Damansara Jaya. Consist of a vibrant young team, the cafe makes sophisticated takes on frugal staples such as breads and rice into inspiring cafe food. On top of that, the cafe also offers selections of pasta and salads. We were impressed with the quality of the food here, and thought Li Cafe stood out in a way by providing a ground for customers to enjoy simple and healthy yet delicate food without a dent in the wallet. Another remarkable point is that the kitchen produces their own sourdoughs, kaya (coconut spread) and croissants.
Housemade sourdough toast with kaya and butter (RM 5) |
Croissant with Kaya filling |
Their Housemade Sourdough Toast (RM 3) is one of the must try here. It had the expected mild sour taste but the texture was not too hard for mastication. When it paired with their housemade coconut spread, the chemistry worked perfectly and this simple local staple became an enjoyment. We also opted to have sea salt butter that added some briny taste. Though the entire add up become a staggering RM 7 for a piece of toast but it was meant for once a while experience.
The cafe also has housemade croissants available though it is not in the menu. Interestingly, they only have a type of croissant - Kaya croissant (RM 12) and not plain croissant. We were impressed by the crisp and flaky croissant, and surprisingly the kaya blended perfectly with the croissants (as the usual encounters with filled croissants were bad experiences). However, we do feel RM 12 for a croissant is a tad expensive to enjoy on a daily basis. Then, it was so addictive...
Housemade Spam Bowl (RM 19.90) |
Housemade Spam Bowl (RM 19.90) is an elevation of the regular staple we used to have everyday. Utilising herb rice and their own chili sauce topping the proteins, then served along with sesame seed, lettuce and soft egg. It is akin to their own poke balls that yields amazing taste. We personally felt the chili sauce was something that made a huge difference as no where else will manage to replicate its awesomeness.
Cappuccino (RM 11) |
Dragonfruit Homemade Enzymes (RM 10) |
Coffee menu here is petite but the cafe has other unique drinks to compensate it. Try their Dragonfruit Homemade Enzymes, which is fermented for days prior serving to give it a subtle taste. It is believed to help in digestion but nevertheless, we enjoyed the drink!
