Restaurant Zim Sum 点心之家 is one of the popular spot among Penangites for savoury dim sum. They are renowned for serving a wide variety of dim sum and having a large restaurant area to cater for exodus of crowds. Years ago, Restaurant Zim Sum was located at Jalan Anson but had since moved to Jalan Macalister. During our visit nearing to lunch hours on a weekday, dim sum choices were still abundant and the service was swift. On a personal preference, the dim sum was savoury but somehow we felt it was over-seasoning, resulting a constant thirsty upon consuming it.
Teochew Fried Noodle |
Overall the dim sum were okay. Egg tarts, siu mai, yam cakes, radish cakes, char siew pau were more than enough to satisfy our appetite. The price is rather reasonable as well, amounting up to RM 40 including the noodles and char siew pau (which was not captured in photo). If there is a particular food that leaves us the most impression, it would be their Teochew Fried Noodle. It is not listed on the menu but once you ask the crew, they will tell you whether it is available. Noodles were fried to al-dente and seasoned nicely.
