There are numerous famous dim sum restaurants congregated in Georgetown, namely Dai Tong, Tho Yuen, Aik Hoe and many more. Such giant names of dim sum restaurants have made dim sum restaurant served in Yee Heong restaurant, a historical Cantonese restaurant appeared to be shunned down. Nevertheless, rest assured the dim sum served here is good and reasonably priced, although the choices offered would be lesser than the other dim sum restaurants.
All the above inclusive tea cost RM 24, which we thought is reasonably priced.
Choices were somehow limited and it is self service here, which means you go and pick your own dim sum at the designated counter, then bring back the dim sum to your table.
The Lor Mai Gai here is real good. Sleek in taste, it almost melted in our mouth after we stuffed it. This explains how greasy the Loh Mari Gai was. It was sinful to health but appeasing to the appetite. Contradicting yeah?
The green colour dumpling left us puzzled what was that until we tried it. It came with prawn stuffing together with jicama. Then the purplish colour siu mai has no prawns but contain sweet potatoes instead.
As the dim sum was not sufficient to cover our appetite, we had a plate of steamed hor fun (RM 9). It comes with the usual hor fun and noodles and drenched to a sauce, akin to the gravy served along steamed fish. The aroma was irresistible and the taste was alright.
