Michi Michi is a newly minted Japanese restaurant located at Arena Curve, right beside Olive Tree Hotel Penang. The menu features a range of Japanese dishes such as Tempura, Grilled Meats, Udon, Soba and their primary focus is Ramen. However, the restaurant is still in its infancy stage (we went during the soft launch period on 12th January), and the food served still lacking of Japanese flair. It tasted more like cafe food to us in fact. Anyhow, it is good to know that the cafe is taking into customers' feedback and poised to make some improvements on it.
Note: Americano and Green Tea is complimentary during soft launch period.
Tonkotsu Char Siu Ramen (RM 18.90) |
Chicken Bowl (RM 18.90) |
On top of the original Ramen noodles, you may opt for Pumpkin Ramen, Spinach Ramen or Anka Ramen at additional cost. The restaurant claims that the soup has been simmered for hours to bring out it essence but our Signature Tonkotsu Char Siew Ramen (RM 18.90) still lack the depth of a great bowl of Ramen. Considering that the restaurant is relatively new, perhaps more fine tune will be done.
We also had a bowl of Chicken Bowl (RM 18.90). We can see the effort of trying to emulating a great bowl of chicken katsu - aromatic rice, flirting sauce and crispy chicken cutlet but the depth was little lacking unfortunately.
