Apart from the hot & spicy Thai food, another food which we enjoyed in Hatyai will be their dim sum. Comparing relatively to dim sum served in Malaysia, dim sum in Thailand is cheaper and gave a total re-branding of impression we had over dim sum. During 2018 trip to Hatyai, our friend recommended us to try Dim Sum Tonmoung for breakfast, nearby to Big C Extra. It was a great experience and we thought the food was great.
There are a wide variety of dim sum available at the counter. To order, just pick any dim sum that you would like to enjoy and pass them on a tray to the counter for steaming purpose, along with the sheet of paper from your table. There are some readily available items such as fried food or roasted pork.
Over here, we can see some interesting choices such as broccoli, prawns, giant yam cakes, steamed fish, mussels and etc.
The roasted pork was something striking for the night. No doubt it comes with a lot of fatty parts but the taste was great. Steamed seafood was fresh too, and would be enjoyed by seafood fanatics.
Overall, the taste of the dim sum here is lighter and less oily comparatively to Malaysians' version. For a good start of breakfast, dim sum in Hatyai will make a good choice.
