The Chic and Modern Luxury Stay in G Hotel Kelawai Penang

The Serta Mattress in the room is one of the best thing we appreciate during the stay. It compensated much of the fatigued arises from my daily chores, and I could easily lay on it for hours to enjoy the satellite TV channels played on the 55-inches LED TV. Meanwhile, I managed to grab some time to do my long-lost hobby - read some magazines or books before dozing off in the comfortable bed. The reading lamps right accessible from the bed is an extra point to have, as I was reluctant to get out from my blanket in such cozy environment before falling to sleep.

A separate working table in the room also allowed me to check emails and complete some necessary reports for work. At times, I switch to the comfy sofa to check on my mobile to reply WhatsApp messages.

Even bathroom in G Hotel Kelawai was not spared from luxuries. Premium Sydney-based APPELLES body shampoo, hair shampoo and soaps are provided complimentary, signifying a redefined lifestyle in the hotel. It would be even greater if a soft-bristled toothbrush was provided.

Availability of a powerful shower head in every shower room also extends the comfort to the most confidant moment of everyone's daily life. If you would like to soak in bathtub, then book a more premium room such as Executive Premier or Premier Suites.

G Hotel Kelawai definitely take a different approach by making everything in mini bar free. Grab your soft drinks, flavoured fruit juices or tidbits without the needs of going to convenience store in midnight in case you feel hungry. Coffee, tea and Milo cocoa drink are available at your disposal too. 

It is a rarity to see generosity demonstrated to this extend in a hotel.

A great perk of staying in Executive Room is you get to access Executive Lounge on the 24th floor on a complimentary basis. It is furnished with plushy furniture with different seating to cater for family or sole business travelers. 

In case you are staying for more than a day and want to try a different experience, you may flick to Executive Lounge in G Hotel Gurney too to enjoy a different view. Simply mention your room number to the receptionist at G Hotel Gurney, and they will guide you the necessary to reach the Executive Lounge.

Plentiful food and beverage drinks are offered in the Executive Lounge, ranging from appetizers, cheeses, cold cuts, desserts and alcoholic drinks. Feel free to immerse yourself into the luxury or impress your business counterparts here.

If you enjoy a quieter breakfast moment without hustling through the exodus of crowd storming the buffet line in the cafe, then go for the Executive Lounge if you are staying in Executive room. The spread is more about the same with the offerings at SPOON cafe, though you can expect a more exclusive and attentive service, and feel yourself being pampered to the maximum early in the morning.

For instance, the crew will serve the drink of your choice, ask your preferred choice of egg while you are enjoying your breakfast. 

Surprisingly, the Deluxe Room we stayed had no much differences compared to Executive Room, other than the no access to Executive Lounge, Room size, mattress comfort, office table, LED TV with satellite channels and premium APPELLES toiletries are present. The only major difference was probably the shower room size, which is smaller relatively but still spacious for you to refresh yourself.

Breakfast is provided at SPOON cafe with a wide choice of dishes with Local, Oriental and Western influences. During peak period, the cafe may be packed (as what we experience during our visit), thus we appreciated the exclusive access to Executive Lounge for breakfast we had earlier. 

Food was alright. Not to the extent that it will engrave a deep impression but will do the job to fuel yourself to kick start the day.

If you have some time to spare at night, head to Gravity, The alfresco Rooftop Bar. While enjoying the breathtaking skyline view with 360-degree panoramic view of Penang Island, you may unwind yourself and cosset your sensory with the Insta-worthy Smirnoff Vodka Tubes, ranges of signature cocktails & mocktails and various appetizing bar bites & snacks

In a nutshell, G Hotel Kelawai is an exemplary dwelling that provides you the uttermost comfort you could ask for, should you require a place to have a good rest out from your house. Positioning wise, it would be a great choice for business and family travelers. Another thing which was really thoughtful by the hotel is the buggy service that provides complimentary shuttling service to neighbouring Gurney Plaza or G Hotel Gurney. After shopping with bags of goodies, just hop to the buggy and arrive to the hotel lobby within minutes.
