If you want to try authentic Hanainese cuisine, then Sin Bee Chew Restaurant is the ideal choice.
The modest restaurant is a popular choice by locals for both lunch and dinner. Having established since 1945, the popularity of the restaurant is so immense that as soon as the door opens, customers packed the restaurant in droves. Lucky for us, we went 5 minutes after the restaurants opened its door and it was half full. For latecomers, we observed they have to wait for a vacant temple.
Great thing is the restaurant is Muslim-friendly as the chefs are Muslim and they use halal-certified ingredients in their food preparation. There were some Malay customers during our time of visit.

Most people are after the delicious Hainanese Chicken Chop, a fairly priced item at RM 13.50. This dish is a classic exemplary of marriage between Chinese and Western culture, thanks to the creativity of the Hainenese chefs working in army workhouse or kitchen during the colonial area. They introduced a thick brown gravy consists of Western influenced Worcestershire sauce and Chinese light soy sauce that makes a perfect complement to the crispy chicken chop.
Personally, we enjoyed the chicken chop. The large chicken fillet has been cut into small slices, and the thick gravy complemented it well by introducing a nice aroma yet without affecting the crispy texture of the chicken chop. Although it appeared to be a heavy dish but it tasted light and easy-going in the palate.

Other than chicken chops, there are many Hainanese influenced dishes here such as fried rice, fried noodles, egg steak and ala carte dishes. We tried the Hokkien Char (RM 6.50) and it was a great dish indeed. The noodles and vermicelli still retained the al-dente texture and complemented well by the light sauce. Generous amount of prawns, chicken slices and vegetables are given too. Dash a little bit of the sambal to give it a decent heat component.
Overall, it was a nice dining experience and the taste is justified by the huge customers' support. Looking forward to come here again.
