Beetroot Latte (RM 12) |
Being the frontliner in the cafe industry, Fei Brew Cafe is into the 3rd wave of coffee that offers artisanal coffee, allowing guests here enjoy the best of the coffee beans.
There are a variety of filtered coffee here and you can choose to have it hand drip or syphon. For those who enjoys the premium filtered coffee, then Jamaica Blue Mountain (RM 42) shall be your pick. Otherwise, New Wave Blend (RM 15), a house blend utilising mixture of coffee beans from Ethiopia, Brazil and Costa Rice will be a great choices as it offers a mild fragrance, nuts and fruits.
Otherwise, a cup of Cappuccino (RM 11) or Long Black (RM 9) would be great.
Matcha Smoothie (RM 14) |
Chocolate Chip Smoothie (RM 14) |
Fruit juices - Go Green & Orange Paradise (RM 10 each) |
Fret not if you are not a big fan of coffee lovers as Fei Brew Coffee offers a range of smoothies and freshly made juices.
We kinda enjoy the drinks here as it was not sweet and no sugars are being added. For instance, we sampled Go Green (Apple, Celery, Cucumber) and Orange Paradise (Mango, Carrot, Orange), which exude the natural scent of the fruits itself. Not only these drinks rich of fibers, it also help to cleanse and detox our body. For your information, World Health Organisation recommended an intake of 25-35g of fibers per day and most of us would never achieve it.
Otherwise, enjoy a cup of smoothies here. Again, we enjoyed the fine tuned sweetness which was not excessive. As the smoothies served along with a scoop of ice cream, it makes these drinks enjoyable during scorching hot weather.
Soup with Puff Pastry |
For starters, enjoy a bowl of hot Soup with Puff Pastry (RM 9). The cream soup is cooked using premium hericum mushrooms, carrot, celery and topped with puff pastry that provides a light yet warming taste to comfort your stomach
Authentic Peranakan Nasi Ulam |
Sambal petai mini burger |
Although the main dishes features Western selection such as Neopolitan Puff Pizza or Baked Mac & Cheese, the real deal that caught our attention will be their Authentic Peranakan Nasi Ulam (RM 14) and Sambal Petai Mini Burgers (RM 14).
The Nasi Ulam is served using Basmati Rice, along with shredded herbs (wild betal leaf, basil leaf, torched ginger flower, kaffir lime leaf, mint leaf) and comes with hard boiled eggs, acar and vegetarian anchovies. We can scent its fragrance the moment it was served to our table. The rice gives a fluffy and light texture and pair it with the sambal for a slight hotness.
Sambal Petai Mini Burger is an odd dish yet it worked miraculously well. The clever usage of sambal helped to mask the strong flavour of petai, reducing it to the extent that non-petai eaters can enjoy this dish without any concern. A slice of hard boiled egg and lettuce are being served along with a generous quantity of petai to provide some texture to the burger.
Waffle Wonderland |
Homemade Butter Lemon Cake |
Mango Grapefruit Sago |
Desserts selection offers a range of sweet item yet necessarily balanced in the health benefits. For instance, the Waffle Wonderland (RM 14) has a light touched of Nutella and topped with abundance of colourful fruits such as kiwi, strawberries, mangoes and garnished with icing sugar and almond fakes that provides a fine taste.
You should give a try on their homemade cakes that are not provided elsewhere. We had the Butter Lemon Cake that is baked by the owner's mother and it was simply nice and delicious! The buttery taste was mild and coupled with a crisp outer layer that make the cake enjoyable.
Another item we had tried was Mango Grapefruit Sago (RM 10), a smooth mango puree flavoured with yoghurt, garnished with grapefruit and accompanied by soft tapioca pearls. It offers a light and smooth taste, yet carefully balanced with the nutrients by the yoghurt and grapefruits.
The cafe is located above Xiang Yun Vegetarian shop in Bayan Point, near to Bukit Jambul and I-Avenue Complex.
Operation hours: 11am - 10pm (Closed on Tuesday)
