The concept of picking your own ingredients and customize your own bowl of Tomyam noodle still remained popular till today. Recently, a new shop offers Tomyam in this concept has been established in Jalan Perak - Tom Yum Koong Noodle House. There are up to 50 different ingredients available for you to pick, and the chef really prepares a bowl of piping hot and spicy Tomyam soup out of it. If you are not keen on having spicy meal especially at night, the clear soup cooked with Shaoxing wine is a great alternative. The food here tasted above average and did not disappoint, with the clear soup with Shaoxing wine really make a difference. In terms of price wise, it may be slightly above the norm of market but worth the value spent.
These 2 bowls of the above cost RM 27 with standard ingredients such as fried fish fillets, minced pork, fish balls, mushrooms and etc. It is hard to justify whether the food worth the price as it is a very personalized experience. However, we can share that the clear soup with Shaoxing wine scent was enjoyable and delicious in taste. The subtle Shaoxing wine flavour made a difference and elevated the taste of entire bowl of soup.
As for the tomyam, it was spicy and above average in taste. A little change in the flavour, perhaps less acidity will give an overall improvement.
