The famous Cheng Du Hotpot - Xiao Long Kan 小龙坎老火锅 that always command a long queue in China even after 5 years of establishment there has landed in Penang finally! The Penang Sunrise Tower outlet is the second outlet of Xiao Long Kan in Malaysia (Fahrenheit 88 being the first one). Well, Xiao Long Kan is unique in a way that they serve a wide selection of meat includes Australia A5 Beef and Spicy Chili Beef, peculiar innards such as pork aorta and crystal glass duck intestines, special dipping sauce along with assorted delicious broth prepared using a hundred's year old traditional recipes. It is one of the best hotpot we have tried so far, in terms of quality of ingredients, services, atmosphere and experiences!

Xiao Long Kan Malaysia offers 4 different types of soup base, namely:
- Traditional Spicy Soup
- Mushroom Soup
- Tomato Flavoured Soup
- Pork Bone Soup
Each soup base is priced at RM 48 per pot. However good news is that you can have 3 flavoured pot, which means 3 soups in a single pot for just RM 50!
Another worthy mention is you can customize the level of spiciness of traditional spicy soup, ranging from 4 level - mild, moderate, super and insane. We tried insane level and the fiery hot was no joke. Nevertheless, we were told Cheng Du folks can have the insane spiciness level soup for breakfast!

We were impressed with the array of meat selections for hotpot in Xiao Long Kan. If you wish to enjoy premium goodies, try the Australia A5 Beef (RM 128). Look at the fine marbling of the beef and you can tell it is of good quality. Simply deep the premium beef slices for 8 seconds into the hotpot, and you will enjoy the richness of the beef slices.
For more affordable and great alternatives, you may consider XLK Spicy Chili Beef which has been marinated nicely or Groupa Fillet.

Overall, we both agreed Xiao Long Kan hotpot is one of the best hotpot we have ever tried so far. Complementing the wondrous food are the impeccable crews' service, unique hotpot taste, experience and comfortable that make all the difference. On top of that, their special condiments also make a huge difference, and pairing with apple vinegar drink with hotpot provided such a satisfying dining.
