The Korean Barbecue restaurant, K-Pot actually has another sister outlet housed in Prima Tanjung at Tanjung Tokong. Unlike the main outlet, this restaurant is named K-Pot Korean Fusion restaurant and offer a menu skewed toward casual Korean food such as Bibimbap, Ramen, Stew and other snacks, though barbecue is available too. Personally, we thought the food here is enjoyable and it comes with a relatively friendly price tag compared to other premium Korean restaurants. On top of that, the service crew service is efficient.
Bibimbap (RM 17) |
Soft Tofu Stew (RM 17) |
The Bimimbap (RM 17) is self explanatory with its picture. It comes with all kind of vegetables, seaweed and an egg topping the rice. Additional thick sauce is given, which is essential to give the bibimbap some moisture. If you are not a vegetarian guy, feel free to topup pork or rice at additional cost.
Soft Tofu Stew (RM 17) here is one of the best we have tried so far in Penang. The taste of the stew packs was immensely rich yet soothing at the same time, though it does not look anything extraordinary from its appearance. It has a slight heat component, a balance of sweet and salty, a tad of aromatic tofu and egg scent, along with some tender pork which we added for another RM 3. This soft tofu stew definitely will make an excellent choice during a rainy afternoon or evening.
Complimentary side dishes |
Baby Bingsu |
Complimentary Korean side dishes (banchan) consists of kimchi, eggs and cucumber slices. For dessert, we had a Baby Bingsu (RM 5) but it was disappointing. The ice was frozen cold and the ice crystals were so sharp in texture. Only comforting factor was the nice and generous quantity of jackfruits and red beans.
